Marie North, DVM
Dr. North was born and raised on a farm just outside of Elie, Manitoba, a perfect environment to foster her love of living creatures. She received her BSc in Brandon and graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon in 2006. Her veterinary career began with mixed animal practise in Beausejour where she developed a keenness towards small animal medicine and surgery. Wishing to focus her abilities and efforts, she dedicated her continuing education towards small animals allowing her to nurture her dedication to companion animals. Her lifelong dream and endeavours were rooted January 5th, 2015 when she opened the doors to her own small animal clinic in Carberry. Dr. North’s experiences have landed her in South Africa with Global Vets, and in Uganda for a wildlife externship. She has also done an externship in Pennsylvania at the NICU for foals.
Dr. North currently resides outside Austin, MB, and is happily married with 4 children, 2 dogs, 3 cats and 2 potbelly pigs! Recreationally she likes to partake in a number of sports including baseball and skating, enjoys camping with her family, and going out for the occasional combine ride with her husband.
